For NFL CTE victims Jim McMahon, Nate Jackson & Leonard Marshall, Cannabis vs Opioids is a no-brainer
What is CTE?
A: Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in people with a history of repetitive brain trauma (often athletes), including symptomatic concussions as well as asymptomatic subconcussive hits to the head that do not cause symptoms.
I used to play Division 2 Football. This is even a huge problem for me. This was a great video you shared. I hope this doesn't become a big epidemic where people grow old and all have dysfunctional brains. I hope people realize that Marijuana has been shown to reduce and even cure some of the side effects of CTE. I think if they were to remove helmets in this sport it would make it less common for CTE. When I was in my playing days as a Defensive End, it was apart of the technique to hit with my head. So if you were to remove the use of helmets in the sport it would encourage people to use their shoulders, because no one would want to bonk their bare head onto someone running 20 MPH at them... Just sayin', DONT BE MAD LOL

KushKing, those are some great points about the helmet. I think it's really alarming that players are taught to hit with their heads. It would be nice for players to not need anything for CTE because they never had CTE in the first place, but since this is still a big problem I don't know why we would deny them anything that helps them. Like 2legit said, you would think during this opioid war we would be a lot more open-minded about any alternatives!
