The Future of Weed Science
I just read a fascinating article about researchers in CU Bolder who have a van that they perform mobile cannabis studies in. They are doing this because it is against federal law for scientists to do research on cannabis that is not government grown, and government weed is weaker than what is bought from dispensaries. I had no idea about this! It's a great article and an interesting read. It is sad that, once again, our government is so out of touch.
I believe despite the Sessions factor, the next couple years will see a more softer approach to cannabis science and testing in regards to the federal government. With the progression of marijuana as states continue to legalize in some form the federal government has no choice but to evolve and at least decriminalize so the scientists can go in depth, the federal government already as you know have a patent on cannabinoids healing properties so they already know the health aspect. Oxymoron on the side of the feds yes! But that goes to sure the level of fuckery we've been dealing with from the federal government and prohibition.
I had no idea about any of this. This is just another example of how creative they are when it comes to getting around these federal regulations in order to do what needs to be done. It's sad that they have to be so creative but I love that they know it's a cause worth fighting for. I hope Oregonremedies is right and that there will be a softer approach in the years to come because this is seriously getting out of hand.
