Voters Likely To Find Legalized Marijuana Initiative On November, 2018 Ballot, Aug. 11, 20017

There is a strong contingent supporting the legalization of Medical Cannabis in ultra-conservative Utah, and those in favor include some of the state’s most prominent business and government leaders.

The first step is to gather the required 113,143 signatures, which the Utah Patients Coalition is committed to accomplishing. Once on the ballot, according to early polling, it is expected that over 70% of Utah residents will support the initiative.

If it wins voter approval, limited numbers of cannabis outlets and physicians would be permitted to prescribe marijuana for certain medical conditions. Smoking marijuana, driving while intoxicated by medical cannabis and public use would remain prohibited.
